Each of us is a potential addict, and over time, each addict finds themselves at a decision point .
Addictions attract us. In a world full of pressures, the prospect of instant escape can be exhilarating. Whatever they may be—to drugs, alcohol, food, gambling, or sex, to name just a few—addictions offer the promise of pleasure. But in the end, they give us emptiness, death and destruction. What began as an escape from life's problems becomes a form of slavery.
Addiction is voluntary slavery . Change is not easy, but it is possible. No matter how many times you've tried and failed, there really is a way through the dense addictive fog. There is a guide to living, and contrary to what many think, it is available to anyone, even those enslaved by addiction. God is not silent on this matter. His Word offers hope, and that hope is the basis of this resource designed for use in community.
